About me

I became a midwife to ensure women and their families experience exceptional midwifery care. Having my own two boys highlighted the impact of excellent maternity care upon the health, happiness and well-being of women and their newborns. 

Supporting women through this momentous occasion is immensely important to me and continues in my work today as a Senior Midwife at Leeds General Infirmary teaching hospital. 

I am also a qualified Lactaction Consultant, registered with the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).

I have over seventeen years experience in providing breastfeeding support, antenatally and postnatally. Throughout my midwifery journey I've supported many mums to feed each unique baby from varying backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and I am passionate about providing tailor made support to overcome any breastfeeding challenges. 

My aim is to provide high-quality care to all mothers, babies and children with warmth and empathy. I seek to empower women by providing the knowledge they need to continue their breastfeeding journey with confidence. My advice is based on current research based evidence, gold standard frameworks and many years of clinical experience to give a holistic approach to the many issues women can face during breastfeeding.

I've experienced first-hand how much of a challenge breastfeeding can be. Amid all the worries and exhaustion of early parenthood, women often receive conflicting feeding advice, which can further disrupt the process.
